The question everybody is asking is, what is metaphysics in philosophy? You will get a lot of different definitions out there as an answer. An easy way to describe metaphysics philosophically is, a concept not yet considered to be science. I am a theist, but an atheist definitely will argue that the concept of God is completely metaphysics. We can go back and forth trying to prove or disprove God, which makes it a metaphysical debate. Metaphysics is a spiritual form of philosophy, mostly dealing with the unknown. It is like explaining the use of electricity in the dark ages. Since there was not yet a scientific explanation for how we can use this form of energy, any explanation of the use of electricity during that time would be considered metaphysics. Something is supernatural until we understand it, then it becomes natural. So any science that we completely don’t understand, that can only be considered theory, is metaphysics. In the science fiction novel The Genecrom Project by S. Graham, the idea of humans existing was considered metaphysics. This was because many situations in the story took place in an environment where humans were never seen. Therefore in many situations metaphysics can become scientific truth. It is only a matter of time until a theory becomes a fact due to scientific discovery.
